Singham Again Movie Review Summary:
Singham Again Movie Review: This is the story of India’s top policeman trying to save his wife.
Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgan) is posted in Kashmir where he arrests the dreaded terrorist Omar Hafeez (Jackie Shroff). Umar warns Singham that someone, who is part of his team, will come and create havoc. Two years passed.
Singham’s wife Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan) is staging a grand play on Ramayana which will run for 9 days. Meanwhile, Singham learns that Omar’s team is smuggling drugs from Sri Lanka to India.
Singham asks Madurai DCP Shakthi Shetty aka Lady Singham (Deepika Padukone) to arrest drug smugglers. She does but sadly, Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor) arrives. He frees the prisoners and sets fire to the police station, killing all the policemen.
If this is not enough, he cunningly lures Avni to Rameshwaram and then kidnaps her. Singham vows to take revenge and is joined by Shakti, Satya (Tiger Shroff), Simmba (Ranveer Singh) and Suryavanshi (Akshay Kumar). What happens next forms the rest of the film.
Singham Again Movie Story Review:
The story of Kshitij Patwardhan is simple. The screenplay by Yunus Sajawal, Kshitij Patwardhan, Sandeep Saket, Anusha Nandkumar, Abhijeet Khuman and Rohit Shetty is feature rich.
Plus, it’s also full of crowd-pleasing moments. Shantanu Srivastava’s dialogues (additional dialogues by Milap Zaveri, Vidhi Ghodgaonkar, Rohit Shetty) are whistle-worthy and will excite the audience.
Rohit Shetty’s direction is commercial. He achieves great success with the responsibility of handling a multi-starrer film. Some of the actors have a little less screen time but it cannot be denied that they are all given memorable fight scenes.
Therefore his fans will not be disappointed. The angle of Ramayana is very good and the way Rohit has drawn the parallels, it seems to be believed.
Although the story is predictable, the director has thrown in a few surprises as well. Satya’s entry is sudden and the film will be liked by the audience. The humor element is also quite strong.
On the other hand, the way Umar was arrested so easily is difficult to digest. Secondly, there are too many cinematic liberties.
FDFS Public Review: Singham Again | Ajay Devgan Akshay Kumar Ranveer Singh Kareena Kapoor Khan
Singham Again had a good start. The chase sequence in Kashmir is charming but could have been written better. The sequence works well individually on situationship but as part of the film, it also tests patience as one waits for some action.
Thankfully, the film gets better once Shakti enters the narrative. Danger The entry of Lanka is frightening. Meanwhile, Satya enters with a bang.
The midpoint is great. In the second half, Simba rocks the show with his antics and action.
The climax is a bit convenient but seeing all the actors together will definitely thrill the audience. The film ends with the much-awaited cameo of Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan).
Singham Again Movie Review Performance:
When Ajay Devgan plays the character of Singham, he becomes something else and it is visible on the screen. Performance wise he is fantastic.
Ranveer Singh has an important role. He goes overboard with some of his jokes but overall, he adds to the entertainment value of the film manifold.
Akshay Kumar is a late entry but as expected, he has done a great job, Kareena Kapoor Khan is the only one who is not doing action but she makes up for it with her screen presence and competent performance.
Tiger Shroff is great and proves that he is still one of the best action stars today. Deepika Padukone is spirited and makes a huge impression. Arjun Kapoor is a big surprise. He looks impressive as an evil villain.
Jackie Shroff is fine and his track is a bit halting at the end. Ravi Kishan (Minister Raj Jaishankar) provides capable support. Shweta Tiwari (Devika) and Dayanand Shetty (Daya) are memorable. Viren Vazirani (Shaurya; Singham’s son) is fair.
Rajashree Nair (Satya’s mother) has given a performance that will appeal to moviegoers, especially women. Sara Afreen Khan (Mrigya) is fine. Lastly, Salman Khan might not be there but his presence will create a stir in the theatres.
Singham Again Film Music and Other Technical Aspects:
The music by Ravi Basrur and Thaman S is disappointing. However, Ravi Basrur’s background score is encouraging.
The cinematography by Girish Kant and Raza Hussain Mehta is breathtaking. The locations especially in Kashmir and Sri Lanka are well shot.
Swapnil Bhalerao and Madhur Madhavan’s production design is rich. The action by Sunil Rodrigues and Grant Hallie and the action design by Rohit Shetty are very good.
Thankfully, it’s not too gory. Naveen Shetty’s costumes are realistic and glamorous. NY VFX Waala’s VFX is stunning. Bunty Nagi’s editing is good but it could have been better in the first half.
Singham Again Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, Singham Again is a big Diwali blast. Although it suffers from a convenience script and a weak soundtrack, it largely compensates with enjoyable moments, similarities with Ramayana and the coming together of the lead stars – a phenomenon that has been seen in Bollywood for ages.
The film will definitely do great business at the box office and do exceptional business. Shame the critics; This is for the public!
